Hello!
I am a research technician in the Kitzes Lab at the University of Pittsburgh. My work focuses on the use of automated recorders and machine learning methods to analyze bioacoustics data in the advancement of conservation goals. Currently, I am assisting a wide range of collaborators in determining the efficacy of a large scale forest management project across public lands in Pennsylvania. I am also interested in investigating how context-specific behavioral signals can be used to glean information about habitat selection in songbirds.
Before joining the Kitzes Lab, I completed a B.S. in Wildlife Science at SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry. Between graduation and coming to Pittsburgh, I spent several years working as a field technician for various ornithology-related projects around the U.S.
When I take my research hat off, you can still often find me in the woods birding and investigating all manner of biota. I am also passionate about transit justice and I am a dedicated cyclist.
